Mothlight Another unauthorized Brakhage soundtrack, this to "Mothlight" (1963). Brakhage composed this film by taping insect parts and plant debris to clear 16mm film stock. The drama of moths being drawn to artifical light could hardly have been rendered more viscerally, and the film does nothing to dispel the notion that we are playing out an analogous drama by having been drawn to the film. My piece is cut very closely to the film. To sync up, the opening tone should be aligned with the beginning of the first frame containing the title, and the closing tone should be aligned with the frame showing the final cut between clear and black leaders at the end.
