Woke up, got out of bed
poured motor oil on my head
I read the news today, oh boy,
it's bad
each headline subtly disguised an ad

So with our credit card
I bought an edutainment pill
It made me think 'til I had thunk
my fill

We've priced four thousand hues
of misery and mild distaste
This is a slightly darker shade
of mahogany
How could you buy a thing like that
from me?

What's with the book, the film,
the photograph, the crowd, the war?
I have to laugh 'cause I've been here
before

So now it's time to ax
the most majestic qualifier
of life's miasmic march while it
expires
and find your way upstairs
into a dream
to your dream
to our dream
