Replacing the Pool Liner: Day 1

The old pool liner had to go; it was peeling off the track that held it to the concrete and water was seeping through the gaps. This had been going on for some time, as you can see from the photos from the first day (June 6, 2001), when the workers drained the pool and began to pull away the old liner from the sides of the pool:

That graffitto on the NE corner must have been there, underneath the liner, for at least fifteen years. Who spraypainted it? No doubt high school hooligans enjoying a beverage in a linerless pool.
